eBay Currency Conversion Fee Change 2026
eBay is raising its seller currency conversion charge in 2026. It applies only to cross-site sales: when eBay converts funds for an item listed or sold on another eBay site, for example a US seller selling on eBay.de. Domestic sales on your own eBay site are not affected.
US sellers: 3% → 3.25% from 14 Oct 2026
For sellers registered in the US the charge rises from 3% to 3.25% on 14 October 2026.
"From October 14, 2026, the fee for sellers registered in US will increase to 3.25%." (eBay.com selling fees)
Worked example: a US seller sells an item on eBay.de for €100 and eBay converts it to, say, $110. Before 14 Oct the charge is 3% = $3.30; from 14 Oct it is 3.25% = $3.58 (28¢ more).
UK sellers: changes 1 Dec
For UK-registered sellers, private and business, the charge rises from 2.5% to 2.75% on 1 December 2026 (eBay pages updated 30 Sep 2026: private sellers, business sellers).
Worked example: a UK seller's eBay.com sale converts to £150. Before 1 Dec the charge is 2.5% = £3.75; from 1 Dec it is 2.75% = £4.13 (38p more).
