FAQ
What is eBay's final value fee?
For most categories it's 13.6% of the total amount of the sale up to $7,500 (2.35% above), plus a per-order fee of $0.30 for orders of $10 or less and $0.40 above $10. Some categories differ, e.g. books/media 15.3%, guitars 6.7%.
Do eBay fees apply to shipping and sales tax?
Yes. eBay's total amount of the sale includes item price, shipping, handling and sales tax.
What is the per-order fee?
$0.30 on orders of $10.00 or less and $0.40 on orders over $10.00, charged per order. Athletic shoes over $150 don't pay it.
How do promoted listings fees work?
With general (cost per sale) campaigns you choose an ad rate; it's charged as a percentage of the sale when an attributed sale happens. Enter your ad rate to see the impact and your break-even max ad rate.
Why are eBay fees so high?
Final value fees cover payment processing too, and are charged on shipping and tax. Using cheaper shipping, avoiding Below Standard status (+6%) and keeping ad rates under break-even help.
What about store subscription discounts?
eBay Store subscribers get different (often lower) fees. This calculator uses the no-Store rates; see eBay's Store selling fees page.
